The pioneer of the office chair for ergonomics workplace, has been reinventing itself year after year since 1926

Orgatec 2018 Sedus : Stand B50 in Hall 8.
Already in 1926 Sedus invented and patented the legendary spring mounted swivel chair worldwide. The first swivel chair with castors (1929) and countless trend-setting patents such as the Similar mechanism (1973) and the Similar-Swing mechanism (2012) followed. At 92 years old, Sedus will present at Orgatec 2018, twelve new products and improvements.
This year Sedus is launching innovative swivel chairs at the Orgatec 2018 office furniture trade fair. These introduce a complete new approach which will continue the legacy of the office chair pioneer. The se:flex swivel chair and the Swivel chair se:motion – dynamic sitting rethoughtt
Sedus will surprise trade visitors to this year’s Orgatec with a total of twelve new products and product enhancements. The most important of these are two swivel chairs for modern flexible workplaces, an office cube system, and a digital analysis tool to optimise the use of offices and work environments.

The entire exhibition is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and shows how media technology and video conference systems can make everyday life more efficient. Sedus is continuing to build on its strong history as an ergonomics pioneer while also expanding on its expertise as a furnishing specialist for cutting-edge office concepts.

Orgatec 2018 will be the first opportunity to experience the new Sedus 2019+ colour concept close up.
Sedus developed a special lighting concept for the company stand this year, working in close collaboration with lighting designers Francesco Iannone and Serena Tellini from Consuline in Milan. Inspired by nature, the result is a splendid light installation that delights the eyes with its dynamism, movement, and attractive contrasts of light and colour. The lights and colour ranges have been selected with great care to achieve the desired result.
CoeLux lighting systems reproduce the combined effect of sun and sky. This can enhance windowless rooms in particular, opening these up for new uses and functions.

The system is based on a mix of state-of-the-art LED technology, that reproduces the sunlight’s spectrum, direction and brightness; an optical system that reproduces the endless distance of the sky and the sun and a millimeter-thick nano-structured material that produces the light and the colour of the sky in the atmosphere.
The installation planned for the Orgatec office trade fair (23 – 27 October in Cologne) shows CoeLux in action – in the meeting room where most video conferences will be held. CoeLux’s artificial sky will serve to counterbalance the screens that otherwise demand our sustained attention, providing a source of balance, relaxation and wellbeing.
