The possibility to merge the needs of working – at the office or from home – with a lifestyle on the road to enjoy the nature is now in the foreseeable future rather than just a fantasy. Thanks to the new re-designed Nissan NV350 Caravan Office Pod Concept. Which aims to provide with the solution that many have been dreaming about.
A new deal for the automotive industry ?
One of the many lessons the world came to learn with the outbreak of the global pandemic was the fragility of working life as well as the risks of co-existing in proximity with others. In the era of social distancing, the Japanese Automotive Firm, Nissan, saw an opportunity. The opportunity of providing with an innovative alternative for the numerous people around the globe that have modified their way of working and living, perhaps forever. During the Tokyo Auto Salon 2021 event, Nissan unveiled a prototype that will hopefully become a commercial reality sometime soon.
The Tokyo Auto Salon is one of the most anticipated events in the automotive industry. The event was scheduled to happen on the 15th – 17th of January 2021 in Chiba, Japan. However, it was cancelled due the rising concerns of the outbreak of COVID-19 virus and transformed to a virtual event. This did not prevent Nissan from making the headlines of the event and other automotive media sources. Thanks to their innovative proposal : the Nissan NV350 Caravan Office Pod Concept as one of the most expected items to be unveiled.
Transition of Working-From-Home to Working-From-Anywhere
More than providing with a suitable working station, the Nissan NV350 Caravan Office Pod Concept takes things to a whole new level of comfort, functionality, and charm. Displaying an innovative new design from inside and outside. Designed for the comfort and equiped with the required office-space for optimum productivity, whilst also fitted for optimal performance on and off the road due to its remarkable built-in transport capacity and functions.
Perhaps the most attractive feature of this ground-breaking van is the Retractable Office Pod. This novel sliding platform is capable of fully extending the desk and most of the working space completely out of the vehicle’s interior for a full outdoors working experience. It is remotely controllable using a smartphone device. It has integrated edge lighting and comes with a fit-for-purpose Herman Miller Cosm Chair for maximum comfort on the Polycarbonate floor.
A great confort
In addition, the NV350 Office Pod is retrofitted with a built-in roof-top deck. Itself equiped with a fully reclinable resting chair and an umbrella to enjoy your breaks. The sliding doors have a drop-down staircase to assist with access/exit of the vehicle. Inside vehicle, the windows have electric shade functions to control the light inside the van. The black light carpeted floor mats match the glove box with UV Antibacterial lamp. Finally, the integrated DC/AC inverter allows you to plug-in electrical appliances onboard. Such as coffee maker, PC, toaster…
Many industrial sectors around the globe were affected by the limitations. Limitations in mobility, social distancing, economic decadence, to mention a few. One of the still most affected industries, besides office space working, is undoubtedly the Tourism. Hence, last year in November Nissan also launched a previous variant of the NV350. The NV350 Premium GX Black Gear, as commercial solution to provide with an alternative for social-distancing friendly tourism. For those who enjoy the “people-haulers” lifestyle out there. And with the new NV350 Caravan Office Pod Concept, Nissan aims to prove once again why they are considered one of the front-running and most innovative automotive firms in the industry.
